The next morning we went to the barn and misty rain was falling but by the time we came out there were big snowflakes. You know the kind that make you think you're in a snow globe.
Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, (Job 38:22)
We have a tradition that on the day of the first snow, we must eat gingerbread and homemade applesauce. On the way up from the barn Laura and I were trying to decide if the tradition required snow on the ground. We needn't have worried because those big fat flakes fell all day and we had an inch or two by nighttime.
My favorite snow song at the moment:
Let it Snow
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!!
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!!
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
