My favorite eggnog recipe

is the one that my sister, Laura, made. She is what I call a cave-girl cook. She doesn't usually use the recipe and so invents new ones. Many times they're worth keeping but she never writes them down-always has them in her head- so I have to ask her what they are every time. Now if the eggnog recipe is on the blog, you all can make it and so can I-even if she's not around.
Eggnog
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups whole jersey milk
nutmeg or allspice
Blend the eggs and sugar really well in a blender. Nothing is worse than a mouthful of slimy egg white. Then add milk and spice. If you don't have rich jersey milk then use some cream and milk.

I will be their God

He says it over and over

Genesis 17:7
And I will establish my covenant between me and thee... ...to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

Genesis 17:8
And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Exodus 6:7
And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God...

Exodus 29:45
And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God.

God had a dream and a vision. He wanted a people. That is why he made them. He wanted to be their God.

Leviticus 26:12
And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.

Leviticus 26:44
And yet for all that, when they be in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them: for I am the Lord their God.

Do you know what it means to have a God?  The orphan does not understand what position a father fills. Sometimes he may feel an ache or emptiness. But if he is adopted, he must learn how to relate to this new person.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Jeremiah 7:23
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

Jeremiah 11:4
Which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:

Our culture today does not understand it. No people, across the ages have understood it. Only a remnant who have allowed Him to teach them know what it is to be his people.

Jeremiah 24:7
And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the Lord: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.

Jeremiah 30:22
And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Jeremiah 31:1
At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

God; Savior, Judge, Friend, Brother, King, Priest, Creator, Sacrifice, Author and Finisher of our faith. So that we might be his people.

Jeremiah 31:33
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Jeremiah 32:38
And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

Ezekiel 11:20
That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

He kept trying. Never gave up. He tried Israel. They wouldn't. So now He is taking anyone who will come, Jew or Gentile, and writing his law on their hearts.

Ezekiel 34:24
And I the Lord will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the Lord have spoken it.

Ezekiel 36:28
And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

Ezekiel 37:23
Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.

He died for this.

Ezekiel 37:27
My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Zechariah 8:8
And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

Hosea 1:9
Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not my people, and I will not be your God.

There is a time when the call is over. Israel, as a nation, missed it. Will you miss it?

Revelation 21:3
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Even so Lord Jesus Come.

Revelation 21:7
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

Exodus 15:2
The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

Two Videos

My siblings have been busy. They made this when Papa and Mom were out. I wasn't home either so we all had to sit and watch it and the mess ups as soon as I finished milking. They really did do a good job. Mom has done this as a one person skit for us several times with the paper bow.

The second video is a link. It happens to be my favorite music video on youtube, at least for now, mostly because the girl who sings it is named Amy Joy just like me.
